INDIAN MESSAGE While trying to  elevate ourselves  through the spiritual pathway by  physiological, psychological and ‘spirit’ /soul based elevation , one can also  bring out many qualities in the body as mentioned in the last Thursday message. Secondly we can also  improve  the mental or psychological caliber  by continuously training the mind. Dr. Deepak Chopra  has shown in TV that how the mental power can  be used  in seconds for  stopping the pendulum of a clock or needle of a watch or for changing the direction of the swinging heavy pendulum. Many such things can become possible  by training the mind.  Yuri Gallon ( I think this spelling is correct) has shown how a steel spoon can be  bent  with mental power.  Thus   one should understand while  elevating the mind  from thaamasic to saatwic level  the  efficacy of the  mental performance can be  improved for the  physical world.

UPANISHAD: In  Darsanopanishad   detailed descriptions of the  many yogaasanas are mentioned, hence this Upanishad is   coming under the class of yogopanishad.   After explaining  the   eight angas  as yama, niyama, aasana, pranaayaama, pratyaahaara, dhaarana, dhyaana, samaadhee  level. The  yogaasanas  are explained. Those aasanaas explained here are  swastika, gomukham, padmam, veeraasanam, simhaasanam, bhadraasanam, muktaasanam, mayooraasanam, sukhaasanam, . ACHIEVEMENTS OF IISH: Classes in Mary Matha college, Trivandrum,  DC college of Managements, Vagamon  Rubber Board international seminar, in Kottayam had good response Release of the  KAILASA PARIKIRAMAM  book has been done  by Smt. Mochita, ( Udayamrutham, Amrutha TV  ). IISH has started  producing new series of  VCDs and DVS meant for supplying to channels and cable tvs under HERITAGE VISION .

WHAT I SAW AND HEARD:  Unimaginable level conversion from Hindu dharma to Christianity is taking place in the remote villages  and HIGH RANGES of Palakkad district, Kerala. Almost  90 % of the tribal Hindus  and poor people  have already  got converted  through day light cheating done in dhyaana kendras working 24 hrs in those places. Every suvisesham for conversion by the pastors is  aimed at denigrating Hindu dharma and Indian culture creating an aversion  and fear  against Hindu dharma   for conversion.

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK Thinking that one can answer  all the questions asked about our  heritage is wrong . Never try to answer/ explain / justify / all the questions asked by a student / learner,  when you try to teach  about our heritage. Boldly inform whatever questions  you cannot answer “ I do not know the answer. Let us find out the answer together” Answer the question clearly rationally, logically and scientifically , if you know the answer

HINDU DHARMA CLASS: LEARNING  HINDU DHARMA / HINDUISM  LESSON : 10,  29th Jul, 2010

VEDAS;  1.Veda / vid  words mean  knowledge. 2. Vedas give absolute  knowledge like we say earth is spherical/ earth rotates / the sun is responsible for life on earth / air is  divine / water  is   as divine as nature /  and so on. 3.  Vedas do not    give stories, it does not give  the explanations about good and bad / paapam (sin) and punya (glory) / dharma and adharma / dos and don’ts / experiences / hell and heaven……….. 4. All the Vedas  teach the universal truths and absolute truth connected with human beings  and also those which are connected with human beings directly or indirectly. 5. Vedas give only the good for human beings  and the nature/ environment 6. Vedas give  the  messages but  not the stories or events  7. The messages are given  as blessings / motivating prayer /directing knowledge / guiding principles / … all these messages  are aimed at integrated   elevation of  the individuals, family, society, nation and  mankind.  Vedic messages are  applicable for  people belonging to any religion / any age / any sex / any linguistic + national back ground/  …. None of the limitations of time/ space / individual background  prevents anyone  from following the  Vedic messages.  8. Vedas  can never be compared  (in content  and way of presentation ) with  any other religious texts of any other religions, in its content and way of presentation. 9. For the Vedas the  content is important  and  equally important is  the way of presentation in  proper sruthies. 10. If the sruthy goes wrong some times the meaning and message also go wrong. 11.  Those who have learned Vedas are known as  Brahmana. None has said only Brahmana can learn Vedas.  (will contue)
