THURSDAY  MESSAGE , SERIES No  218,   15TH  JULY 2010

INDIAN MESSAGE: Human growth is multi  directional.  He has to grow every day not only physically but also  on variety of areas. He has to grow physically, mentally, spiritually, economically, academically, socially,  and so on. Unfortunately, we think our growth is completed  after  few decades.  It is important to   know that  growth is  life and death is stagnation. Or life is growth and stagnation is death.  If our yesterdays and today are  the same without any improvement or progress, that means we are ‘dead’. For preventing premature death our forefathers have written so many  books to read and develop / elevate ourselves every day.

UPANISHAD: Rudraaksha jaabaala Upanishad (contd) gives  the detailed explanations  on three types of rudraaksha   sama.snigdha, drudda.sthoola,  and kanta.  How to wear the rudraaksha, who can wear rudraaksha, the Moksha phala of wearing different number of rudraaksha  in  neck, hair, tuft and also in  long chain/necklace with silver , gold, or without any metals.  How ever  the people who are leading the  common man’s life are not expected to wear rudraaksha without following the traditional instructions.

ANCIENT INDIAN MANAGEMENT  PRINCIPLES  VIDUROPADESA:   building  bad relation with  cruel adharmic man and consoling by saying that, that man is residing far away place and he cannot  create any problem for me (because he is residing far away)  is dangerous. It is very good to create good relations with good people and it is also bad to create bad relation with bad people.  ( better not to have any relation with bad people for ever)

WHAT I SAW AND HEARD: I  saw  hundreds of  meat shops  in the streets of Katmandu while travelling to Kailasa, where  full size pigs and  goats were  displayed after removing their skin. The carcass  has their eyes, face, body intact except  skin removed cruelly.  This  scene was  so horrible to watch  and more  cruel than even the  killing   for halaal meat.  It appears that 99% of the Katmandu population is Hindus.

SUPERSTITIONS: Many people think that wearing rudraaksha  solves all  their problems. They think that anyone can wear rudraaksha. They think that the costlier the rudraaksha the more  glorious they are.  They also think that   one/ two / three……face rudraaksha  fetches  great benefit and they are being purchased for   tens of thousands of rupees.  Please remember that  it is a superstition,  common men are not expected to wear rudraaksha. It is not at all difficult to make  rudraaksha with many  faces or even one or two face using a good cutter and fevicol/ quick fix.

OUR DEEP GRATITUDE to  Messrs. . E.K. Nair, Ernakulam; Sri. P.S. Mohan Kumar, Dubai, Sree Kumaran Nair Oman, N.D. Madhavan Namboodiri, Palakkad ; Pradosh Nair Bombay and Smt. Deepa  for their great  support for undertaking the mission of spreading our heritage @ Many people have contributed materials for  our museum, our gratitude to them also.

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK: the more criticisms, negatives, failures, crisis….we face the  stronger we will become.

 LEARNING  HINDU DHARMA / HINDUISM  LESSON : 8 (15th July, 2010)

HOW THE CASTE IS FORMED IN HINDU DHARMA:   one need not go through the theory of caste system through anthropology or  history. Any one can get the  explanation on the origin of caste system. The children of  a Brahmana in Kshatriya wife is one caste,  in the vaisya wife another caste, in the sudra wife a third caste. Similarly children of a Kshatriya in Brahmana wife has another caste, in Vaisya wife  yet another caste and so on.  Then these  castes again cross link to  many castes. Very interestingly each caste had  specific profession  and no where untouchability practiced in Vedic India. Veda Vysya, Valmeeki, Maheedaasa Aitareya, Viswamitra,  and later days Swami Chinmayaananda,, Maatha Amruthananda mayee, Sri Satya Sai Baba  and many sages contributed to Hindu dharma were not born to Brahmin parents.  The untouchability has not been mentioned in Vedas or other  Indian literature including, dharma saastras.
